Managed by a master washer who has been in the industry for six generations, our herbal washing and cleaning facility offers gentle but effective results for high-quality, hand-knotted carpets. Only natural herbs such as reetha, shikakai and amla are used during the hand-washing process, with no harmful chemicals that can lead to colour bleeding and loss.
Care for your carpets with our safe cleaning methods
First, the carpet is laid out in the sunlight to help loosen the pile before being thoroughly dusted. Once the loose dust has been extracted from the carpet, it is washed using the herbal mixture and water.
While water plays an important role in removing dust and other impurities from the carpet, it increases its weight sevenfold. If left for a long period of time, it can adversely affect the natural fibres and needs to be removed at the end of the process. After strenuous washing, the carpet is dried in sunlight for several days until the moisture has completely evaporated.
