Specially woven in the regions of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, the Suzani carpets are known for their unique weaving style. The word "Suzani" initially means embroidered hangings, coverings or needles in ancient Persian. To make these rugs, the weavers create multiple pieces for the carpet, which are then stitched together. Suzani rugs are known for their traditional floral motif designs. The carpets usually feature pomegranate blossoms, tulips, and hyacinths. The Souzani collection by The Carpet Cellar is an interesting take on the original carpets and textiles and is meant to bring the burst of color and pattern into a space while proportionally altering the pattern to be sparse.
